ONLINE COLLABORATIVE WRITING USING WIKIS.
As
teachers we have to know that we can try or implement new ideas, new
websites or new things that we can use it as a tool with our students
and, of course as benefits for them to develop their language skills.
According to the reading it says that at first it was a little bit weird
and maybe dificult for learners try to discover or the pourpuse of the
wikis use. Then, they explian that students star to enjoy writing in the
wikis section, they audience who read their paragraph's. Teachers says
that they have found many benefits and pros for all of them. Students
can work by joing there with different classes or even do different
schools.
According
to the reading it says that there are many wikis at the Internet it
beacomes famous for the benefits that provides students. Teachers and
students can create their own wikis for free. It is easy to learn and to
use. These tool is pretty useful beacuse students can develop their
writing skills by many proyects that the teacher can provide at wikis.
Hello Alexander, I agree with you that as teachers we must be aware of these new technologies, and we also need to persuade our students to use them. Reading the article I found particularly interesting the student’s first attitudes towards the project and the final results. As you mentioned, they were a little bit concerned about the use of wikis since it was for most of them the first encounter with these platforms, but as the instructor guided them through the process, students became more confident, to the point that they enjoyed the collaborative writing process. To sum up, wikis are a great option to promote collaborative writing because they are engaging and easy to be used.

ReplyDeleteHi Alexander, I share what you say, teacher need to find new ways of teaching, they have be aware of novelties which are being created to be used in the classroom. The articles, as you said mention some interesting things which teachers can apply to develop the writing skills with the help of technology we can ask students to complete homework’s or assignments outside the classroom, moreover we have to create or check the web pages or the material that we are going to ask them to complete either for misunderstandings at the moment to develop the activities or for them to have the capacity to complete them. On the other hand we must be aware of the experience of students with the use of internet, and one of the hardest things for teacher is to control or make students to work in the material or activity due to the lack of interest. That is why teachers have the duty to choose things which are appealing for students and not things which they will not feel like doing them. I want to share something extremely important for teachers, we have to keep updating ourselves with the great amount materials that are being created the things we learn today tomorrow are not new. For this vital reason we must work every day studying the new things which students are keener on learning.
